Future Occupations

Psychiatrist- Over a decade of schooling/ learning required, however, many of the abilities and skills picked up in this field are extremely applicable to other aspects of life, and psychiatrists are very handsomely paid. People value their sanity.

Market Analyst- We can all agree on the fact that people are dumb. They act in irrational ways, and make odd decisions. This is what a market analyst is for. Paying attention to trends, conducting surveys, and otherwise figuring out what works for large corporations to make their products and services appealing and accessible to the masses.

Freelance Writer- One of the laziest jobs imaginable, you can spend a week in bead as long as you can get several paragraphs written towards whatever project you're working on. The downside here is the reality that it's nearly impossible to hold this as your only occupation and live comfortably.

Alchemist- Converting mercury or lead to gold is and extremely fast and effective get rich-quick scheme. The other major perk to being an alchemist is being able to charge extremely high prices for medicines and remedies (apothecary and alchemy go very hand-in-hand.) Even more incentive for this career is the Philosopher's Stone. If one can figure out the means to create this, it is the means to immortality, which is amazing by any standards.

Musician- Risky at best. There are a couple fantastic benefits though. First, is the joy of creation. It's simple really. You make something, and if enough people like it strongly enough, then you get rich off of it. There's the traveling too. If people like you enough, they want to see you, so you go to them and they love it. The worst part of the occupation though, (besides the fact that skill has nothing to do with success. It all boils down to luck) is the difficulty of staying true to yourself with so many influences coming at you from everywhere.

I can't decide what to do with my life. :P Any thoughts?

  1. I don't have any advice there. But I like the ideas you have. xP Alchemist sounds interesting, I mean, it would be cool if some time in the future I could say: "Oh yeah, my cousin, he's an alchemist." It would be rad. I feel like that's the one I gravitate towards in your case, but musician is awesome. Freelance Writer is something you should do in your spare time if you get the inspiration I feel. Music is something you love, so definitely keep it in your life.
Lastly Market Analysis and psychiatry are both intellectual fields that I feel you could definitely do well in, and you'd probably enjoy them equally for the results each provides, but somehow they stand dull in contrast to your other options. Perhaps psychiatry not so much, but its not at the top.
